The dominance of Quince Orchard High School football, not only in Montgomery County, but in the state of Maryland continued with another championship. Quince Orchard knocked off Prince George’s County power Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. 26-21 in Maryland’s 4A State Championship on Friday, December 5 in Annapolis.
That makes it two straight Maryland state titles and a record seventh state crown overall for the Gaithersburg school who extended their winning streak to 27 games in a row. The Cougars finished another unbeaten season with a 14-0 record and has lost just one game since 2021. In the last five years, QO is 64-1 with four state championships.

Quince Orchard coach John Kelley, who has been at the helm of this incredible run, has nine starters returning next season so the program is expected to be the favorite for a third straight state title.
