A Gaithersburg man was killed in an early morning shooting Thursday. Detectives are now asking for the public’s help as the investigation continues, according to Montgomery County Police.
Officers and county fire-rescue crews responded around 5:55 a.m. April 9 to the 12500 block of Carrington Hill Drive for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, they found a 32 year old Gaithersburg man, later identified as Christpher Gove, inside a residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Shortly after, officers were dispatched to the area of West Montgomery Avenue and Darnestown Road for a reported single-vehicle crash. At the scene, they located Gove’s black Toyota Highlander, which was unoccupied. Police said no suspect is in custody, and the investigation remains active.
Detectives ask residents in the Willow Ridge neighborhood, as well as those who live near West Montgomery Avenue and Darnestown Road, to review surveillance or doorbell camera footage from the early morning hours of April 9.
Investigators are seeking video footage of any suspicious activity, including recordings of the black vehicle or anyone entering or exiting it.
