Montgomery County Police identified the Silver Spring man who was killed in this Sunday morning accident as Cristhian Francisco Trejo Portillo, who was 33.
While driving on Georgia Avenue, he struck a curb, a concrete retaining wall and a wooden utility pole. The car ended upside down in the road. When police arrived at the scene, the driver was trapped in the can and unresponsive. He was extracated and pronounced dead on the scene.

An adult male has died following a one-car crash Sunday in the area of Georgia Avenue and Randolph Road in Glenmont.
According to Montgomery County Police, at 1:17 a.m., a driver of a Cadillac Escalade who was headed north on Georgia Avenue before Randolph Road drove off the road and struck a wooden utility pole before the car stopped upside down on the road.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police officers continue to investigate this fatality and will provide more information following notification of next of kin.
