Two people were found dead from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning in Boyds on Saturday, June 27.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services and Police responded to a carbon monoxide call at the 12700 block of Fernberry Road.
According to an updated report, 91-year-old Ceferino Jarin and 89-year-old Elizabeth Jarin were found unresponsive in their home by relatives checking on their welfare. They were declared deceased at the scene.
Earlier that day Elizabeth Jarin told relatives the smoke alarm was going off. But her husband could not reach the alarm to turn it off. Investigators determined it was the carbon monoxide detector that was going off.
Officials say they found a vehicle running in the garage of the house and high levels of carbon monoxide. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Staff estimated the levels of carbon monoxide at 2,000 parts per million in the main part of the house.
The deaths were not considered suspicious.
