1. New Cafe: Emma’s Torch cafe is now open at 1200 East-West Highway in downtown Silver Spring, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, pastries and coffee/tea. The cafe trains refugees — and customers get to taste their work.
2. Strathmore Outdoor Concert: At 7:30 p.m., Strathmore will host Maruja Limón — the Barcelona-based sextet that does Flamenco-pop with Latin rhythms — outdoors on the lawn at the Gudelsky Gazebo. Free/$5 per ticket suggested. See more here

4. Virtual History Book Club: Tonight’s virtual History Book Club hosted by Montgomery Parks will meet from 6:30-8 p.m. to discuss “The Other Madisons: The Lost History of a President’s Black Family” by Bettye Kearse. Free. Register here
5. ICYMI: Police are upgrading the Drone as First Responder (DFR) program with a new dock-based drone system. The drones are used to respond to certain 911 calls before officers arrive on scene.
