The pedestrian who died Monday evening has been identified as 44-year-old Raoudha Khelifi of Rockville, according to the MCPD.
Khelifi was walking with her 4-year-old son in a pedestrian walkway near Twinbrook Parkway when she was struck by a vehicle, according to police.
The Rockville City Police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded to the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the area of Chapman Avenue and Twinbrook Parkway on Monday at around 8:25 p.m.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that a vehicle was traveling in the area when it struck Khelifi and her 4-year-old son.
Khelifi later died after being transported to an area hospital. Her son was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.
The adult male driver of the car was not injured. He remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation, police say.
A passenger, an adult female, was not injured.
