Heavy Rain Results in Flood Warning for Tuesday

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flood warning for a large portion of the county on Tuesday until 11:30 a.m. Flooding is expected in areas including Germantown, Rockville, Gaithersburg, Damascus, Poolesville, Aspen Hill, Potomac, North Bethesda, Montgomery Village, North Potomac, and Redland. A  flood watch for Montgomery County and surrounding areas is in place from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Heavy rain will cause flooding within the next 24 hours. Flash flooding is possible.

The NWS expects around 1.5 to 2 inches of rain to fall. Some areas may receive as much as 4 inches of rain.
