Arrest in Silver Spring Attempted Murder

A Washington, D.C. resident was arrested on Monday for an attempted first-degree murder in Silver Spring. 37-year-old Anthony L. Green was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder and other related charges. He is currently being held in D.C. on unrelated charges.

At around 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his midsection walked into the fire station at 8100 Georgia Avenue. He was then taken to a local hospital with life threatening wounds.

According to a press release, after investigation, MCPD 3rd District determined Green was arguing with an individual near the fire station when the victim tried to intervene. The victim was allegedly shot twice by Green.

Detectives followed leads and Green became the prime suspect. A warrant for his arrest was issued on Tuesday, July 25.

Green was arrested the following Monday, July 31.
