Attorney General Releases Police Camera Footage of Fatal Police-Involved Crash in Rockville

The Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Maryland Attorney General’s Office released dashboard and body-worn camera footage from a fatal pursuit involving Montgomery County Police on May 20 in Rockville.

The footage released June 13 involves the pursuit in which Lawrence White, 37, of Washington, D.C. was killed.

According to the AG’s office, at 5 a.m., Montgomery County police officers responded to a call reporting an unresponsive man inside a vehicle in the area of Rockledge Drive in North Bethesda.

When officers tried to speak with the driver, he sped away, heading northbound on I270. Following a two-minute pursuit, the driver crashed his vehicle in the northbound express lanes just south of Route 28. The driver was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.
