The county requests residents to stay off the roads if possible this evening. Down county snow accumulation totals around 6 inches. Up county saw about 4 inches. But with falling temperatures, icy conditions, and snow removal underway driving could prove hazardous.

Department of Transportation crews have finished plowing and salting primary roads and have begun clearing residential streets. Tree crews will continue to remove fallen branches blocking roadways. For up-to-date road clearing information, you can visit the county’s Snow Portal.

County Ride On buses continue to run on time but can experience some weather-related delays. Check the Ride On Real Time website for schedules and the MCDOT website for service interruptions.

MCDOT operates 7 regional depots for clearing snow with 220 plow routes covering more than 5200 lane miles of county roads. The Maryland State Highway Administration clears all state roads in the county. State roads are those designated by numbers.
