Bethesda Native Ein Makes DC Tennis Tournament Double the Fun

it’s a good day for tennis fans throughout the DMV region.’

Bethesda native Mark Ein announced Thursday that the newly named Mubadala Citi DC Open (formerly the Citi Open) is becoming the only combined ATP/WTA (men’s and women’s) 500 level event in the world. The existing Citi Open is combining with the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic in San Josse, Ca.

Ein, an investor, entrepreneur and philanthropist, owns the Washington Kastles of World Team Tennis. Recently, it was announced that Ein is one of about 20 investors in the Josh Harris-led ownership group waiting to for approval by the NFL to buy the Washington Commanders.

The tournament, which will be played July 30-August 6 at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park, gives fans a chance to see top level men’s and women’s players.
