Bethesda’s Winter Wonderland Returns Dec. 2

Bethesda’s annual Winter Wonderland returns Saturday, Dec. 2. Celebrate the holiday season from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Norfolk Avenue Streetery in downtown Bethesda with choral and dance performances, live ice sculpting presentation, and a special appearance from Santa Claus.

The Norfolk Avenue Streetery is located at the corner of Norfolk and St. Elmo Avenues in Bethesda’s Woodmont Triangle. This family friendly event is free. Those who are able are asked to bring a new toy to donate to Toys for Tots.

The schedule of Saturday’s activities include:

Ice Sculpting Demo from 1-2 p.m.
The sculptor will use chainsaws, ice picks and other tools to transform blocks of ice into pieces of art.

Visit with Santa Claus from 2-4 p.m.
Enjoy holiday treats and children’s crafts from Imagination Stage, Round House Theatre and face painting.

Student Performances from 2-4 p.m.
A choral concert from local school choirs. Students will perform winter inspired music. The schools include the Academy of the Holy Cross, Bethesda-Chevy Chase High, Bethesda Conservatory of Dance, Chevy Chase Elementary School, Georgetown Prep, Unity Dance & Movement, Young Artists of American, and Walter Johnson High Schools.

All events Saturday are free.
