Bike and Scooter Classes Offered for Adults

As the county works to find alternative methods of transportation, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is providing classes for people 18 and older to learn how to ride bikes and e-scooters.

The bike sessions are scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 5 at the GEICO Chevy Chase Building and Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Burtonsville Park & Ride Lot, located behind the Burtonsville Crossing Shopping Center.

The courses will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bikes and bike helmets will be provided. There is no charge for Washington Area Bicyclist Association members and Capital Bikeshare for All users. There is a $10 fee for residents and $85 charge for non-residents. Limited spots are available. Anyone interested in participating must register.

Following the bike classes, there will be a free e-scooter safety course from 1-3 p.m. People over 18 can come and go as they please within this window. There is no registration.
