Board of Elections Needs Poll Workers

The Montgomery County Board of Elections (BOE) needs election workers for the upcoming primary.

The BOE will staff information tables at public libraries on Saturdays this month . Staff will be available to talk with residents about serving as election workers, updating their voter registration and apploying to vote by mail.

The information tables will be open on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. based on the following schedule:

How to Become a Poll Worker

  • Apply by phone by texting SERVE to 77788 and follow the instructions.
  • Apply online by visiting the Montgomery County Board of Elections website at www.777vote.org, then select the “Election Workers” tab, then select the “Getting Started” tab.

Students 16 years old or older are eligible to register to vote and serve as poll workers. Each minor must demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the Maryland State Board of Elections, that they meet all qualifications for registration in the State. Students serving as poll workers may choose Student Service Learning (SSL) credits in lieu of the stipend.
