County Official Docked Four Weeks Pay for Alcohol Bar, Drinking in His Office

Casey Anderson, chair of the Montgomery County Planning BoardMaryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, was docked four weeks of his salary for having a full bar in his Wheaton office and drinking with officials in his office, both violations of county policy.

Vice-chair Partap Verma and Planning Board Commissioner Carol Rubin will each lose one day of pay, according to the reprimands given out by Montgomery County Council.

The three also must attend Employee Assistance Program counseling.

“The Council is extremely disappointed in the violations of Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) policy by Planning Board Chair Casey Anderson,” Council President Gabe Albornoz wrote in a news release.

“Montgomery County Planning Board leadership must model the behavior that we want all employees to display,” Albornoz noted.
