The Montgomery County Police Department, Recreation Department, Department of Transportation, Department of Health and Human Services and many other county offices received Achievement Awards from the National Association of Counties (NACO).
Each year, counties apply for these honors that recognize local government programs and services. In 2025, Montgomery County departments received a total of 39 awards for their programs.
The Police Department received recognition for its new NetZero Station in Gaithersburg. The new facility, serving the 6th district, operates on solar power, working towards the county’s goal of carbon-neutrality.
The Department of Health and Human Services received the honor for its new mobile health clinic. The vehicle features dental, medical and behavioral health rooms and was created to make healthcare more accessible throughout the county.
“These recognitions demonstrate the creativity and dedication of our County departments in meeting the diverse needs of our community,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. “From strengthening public health and safety to promoting economic opportunity and sustainability, they reflect our commitment to serving all residents.”
