
D.C. Department of Health officials warn of a confirmed measles case from an international traveler at Dulles Airport who arrived at Dulles Airport and took the Metro earlier this month. According to the Department’s Saturday press release, the individual traveled to various sites across the area, including the following in Montgomery County:
- Silver Line Train from Dulles Airport Station, transferring at the Metro Center Station to the Red Line Train heading towards Shady Grove Station: June 8, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (it is unclear if the traveler remained on the Metro into Montgomery County)
- The Russian School of Mathematics, 8401 Connecticut Ave., Chevy Chase: June 8, 3 to 6 p.m.
- WMATA L8 Metrobus Southbound to Friendship Heights: June 8, 5 to 7 p.m.
The Department also warns of exposure at the following sites outside the County:
- WMATA H4 Metrobus Westbound to Tenleytown: June 12, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
- MedStar Health Pediatrics, 4200 Wisconsin Ave NW, D.C.: June 12, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
This follows confirmed measles cases in Maryland, also from Dulles Airport.
If you believe you were exposed to measles and have not received two doses of the vaccine, contact your local care provider or call D.C. Health at 844-493-2652 for guidance.
If you notice measles symptoms, isolate immediately by staying home, call your healthcare provider, or go to the emergency room. Tell them you may have measles and ask them to contact the health department.
