Doctor Found Guilty of Sexually Assaulting Patients

A doctor with a medical practice in Silver Spring has been found guilty for sexually assaulting two patients.

Dr. Ishtiaq Malik, 59, of Lanham in Prince George’s County, was convicted on two counts of second-degree rape and two counts of fourth-degree sex offense on Friday, according to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office (MCSAO). He faces up to 42 years of executed prison time.

According to Montgomery County Police, Malik was arrested Feb. 2023 outside of his medical practice on Lockwood Drive in Silver Spring — Advanced Walk-In Urgent Care. Two female victims alleged he groped, inappropriately touched, and sexually assaulted them during routine examinations. The victims went to the urgent care on separate dates, according to police.

Eight more victims came forward after his reported arrest, according to MCSAO.

And on Monday, according to MCSAO, Malik appeared before a Circuit Court judge, agreed the state has evidence to prove his guilt in another case, and entered a plea for eight counts of fourth-degree sex offense, for each of the eight other victims.

A sentencing hearing is set for April 12, per MCSAO, and the court will consider crimes against all 10 victims.
