Election judges are needed in Montgomery County.
The county Board of Elections seeks voters to serve as election judges during early voting from June 11 to 18 and on primary election day on June 23. All workers must be registered Maryland voters who are fluent in English. Election workers cannot hold public office, be a candidate running for office or act as campaign managers.
The board particularly needs residents who are registered Republicans or Independents. It also needs Spanish, Amharic, Chinese, French, Korean and Vietnamese speakers.
Students who are at least 16 years old can serve as election workers. Students earn up to 25 Student Service Learning (SSL) hours per full day of service in place of a stipend.
Judges must complete training. Volunteers receive compensation for completing both training and their duties during early voting or election day.
Multiple positions are available, including full-day and partial-day opportunities, as detailed at www.777vote.org. Individuals who served at polling places during the 2024 elections are eligible to receive a $100 bonus for each full day of service, and $50 for each half-day shift.
