Elrich to Offer Update on Montgomery County Coronavirus Cases Friday Morning

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich is holding a news conference Friday at 10 a.m. to provide an update about the three confirmed coronavirus cases in Montgomery County.

The three cases are the only confirmed cases in Maryland. The news was announced Thursday evening and led Gov. Larry Hogan to declare a state of emergency.

The news conference will take place in the Executive Office Building in Rockville and it will be live-streamed on the county’s website and Facebook page. People can also watch it live on County Cable Montgomery (CCM)—Channel 6 on Comcast and RCN (HD on 996 and 1056), and Channel 30 on Verizon.

The county shared a video on its Facebook page Thursday evening, where Montgomery County Health Officer Travis Gayles said health officials are working to learn about who the three patients came in contact with since they contracted the virus.
