Flood Watch Issued for Sunday, Monday

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flood watch for Montgomery County beginning Sunday at 6 pm through Monday at 6 am.

Expect heavy rainfall that may produce flooding.

According to NWS, one to three inches of rain are most likely Sunday evening through Monday morning. This amount or rain could cause flooding of small streams, creeks and urban areas. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains and ditch may become clogged with debris.

Also according to NWS, Easterly winds are expected to gust up to 25-35 mph late Sunday afternoon into night Sunday night before switching to northwest Monday with gusts 35-45 mph.
