Former Sheraton in Silver Spring Reopens as DoubleTree by Hilton

A ribbon was cut Wednesday evening to mark the opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton in Silver Spring. The building at 8777 Georgia Avenue formerly was the Sheraton Silver Spring.

DoubleTree by Hilton and Linchris Hotel Corporation will operate the hotel, which will offer a warm chocolate chip cookie to guests as they arrive.

“We’re glad to be part of the Silver Spring community and are excited to convert the Sheraton hotel to the DoubleTree by Hilton Silver Spring DC North. DoubleTree by Hilton is a great franchise partner for travelers coming to the Silver Spring area,” said Brian Anderson, Senior Vice President, Operations, Linchris Hotel Corporation, in a news release.

There are 229 guest rooms and 14,235-square feet for meeting, wedding and other event space at the hotel, which is located four blocks from the Silver Spring Metro. It also includes onsite dining at Mica’s Restaurant.
