The City of Gaithersburg launched Build Gaithersburg 2040 to update its Master Plan with a vision through 2040. The project focuses on revising the Land Use and Transportation Elements to guide future development and infrastructure.
Public engagement began with two webinars, held June 24 at 7 p.m. and June 25 at noon, where staff introduced the project and its goals. A link to join today’s webinar can be found here under the list of Events.
The first phase of the master plan update includes community input and research. City officials encourage residents to stay involved throughout the process. Sign up for email updates here
The Land Use Element will shape zoning and determine where and how land can be developed.
The Transportation Element will create a framework for a safer, more equitable network for all users—drivers, cyclists, walkers and transit riders.
The Build Gaithersburg 2024 team will also be set up at SummerFest on Saturday, June 28 and Casey Farmers’ Market on Thursday, July 3. Stop by the information table and learn more.
