For the first time, Congressional Country Club in Bethesda is hosting a women’s professional golf tournament.
The 2022 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will be played Thursday through Sunday. The tournament sponsor held a summit Wednesday to promote women’s leadership.
Speakers included Olympic gold medalist and Silver Spring native Dominique Dawes and former U.S. Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice.
Attendees said the championship event is important for encouraging girls and women in sports.
