Greg Wims Sworn in as District 39 Delegate

On Tuesday, Greg Wims was sworn in as the newest member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 39.

Wims is filling the latest vacancy in the House of Delegates after former Del. Kirill Reznik resigned after nearly 16 years to become an assistant secretary at the Maryland Department of Human Services. District 39 includes a majority of Germantown, Montgomery Village, and parts of unincorporated Gaithersburg.

Wims is a longtime community, business, and nonprofit leader. He was nominated by the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee from a field of six candidates. Wims was born in Bethesda and was the first male Head Start teacher in the county. He also serves as the director of the Upcounty Regional Services Center. Previously Wims served as the president of Maryland and Montgomery County’s NAACP chapters and founded the Victims’ Rights Foundation.
