How New Immigration Policies May Effect Montgomery County

President Joe Biden visited the US-Mexico border and inspected a busy port of entry on Sunday in his first trip to the region after two years in office.

The president’s visit follows the recent announcement of new policies that would allow 30,000 migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to enter the country every month and work legally for up to two years as long as they apply from their home country and can find someone to finance them in the United States.

Immigration Attorney and former state delegate Maricé Morales talked to MyMCM about the new policy and what it could mean for Montgomery County.
