‘It’s Not Even Safe to Walk to the Store’; Local Church Collects Donations for People in Ukraine

St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Silver Spring started a humanitarian crisis center to collect donations for people in Ukraine.

MyMCM spoke with Alex Vasilenko, a church congregant, about the donation site and the concerns he has for his family in Ukraine.

If you are interested in making a monetary donation you can donate here. The church is also asking the community for items such as medications, nonperishable foods, and personal hygiene products. You can bring the items in person or have them delivered through Amazon to the church located at 15100 New Hampshire Avenue Silver Spring, MD 20905.

For more information you can contact the church via email at admin@standrewuoc.org or by calling 301 384 9192 ext #4.
