Jeffery Deaver to Present New Thriller at Gaithersburg Book Festival

New York Times bestselling author and master of suspense Jeffery Deaver will present his latest novel, “South of Nowhere (A Colter Shaw Novel)”, at the Gaithersburg Book Festival on Saturday, May 17. He joins more than 130 other featured authors at the event.

In South of Nowhere, Colter Shaw races to find a missing family swept away by floodwaters in a small Northern California town. As time runs out, Shaw and his sister, Dorion, must determine whether the levee is failing naturally—or if someone is sabotaging it.

Deaver’s thrillers have sold in 150 countries and been translated into 25 languages. He has received multiple lifetime achievement awards, including honors from Bouchercon, Strand Magazine, and Italy’s Raymond Chandler Society.

Gaithersburg Mayor and Book Festival founder Jud Ashman offers a brief review of “South of Nowhere.”

Deaver will speak about “South of Nowhere” at 2:15 p.m. in the Dashiell Hammett Pavilion, followed by a book signing at 3:15 p.m.

The Gaithersburg Book Festival runs Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Bohrer Park, 506 S. Frederick Avenue. Admission and parking are free.
