A 13-year-old Takoma Park female was arrested and charged with making threats of mass violence against Takoma Park Middle School.
According to Takoma Park Police, on July 6 at 10 a.m., police responded to the school on Piney Branch Road for a report of threats made on the school’s telephone voicemail regarding a school shooting. Summer school was in session at the time.
The school was placed on lockdown. Officers searched the school and did not find an active threat.
The juvenile is in the custody of her parents.
