Libraries Hosts Series of Author Talks

Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) hosts a series of free virtual talks featuring best-selling, award-winning and highly acclaimed authors from around the world. The next talk features New York Times bestselling author William Kent Krueger at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 27.

The featured writers in the series will cover a wide range of fiction and nonfiction genres. The series includes the opportunity to ask the authors questions. Links to the live talks are provided to registered participants.

The programs will take place as follows:

  • William Kent Krueger: April 27 from 8-9 p.m. Register for the talk here.
    Krueger is a New York Times bestselling author of more than 20 books including This Tender Land and Lightning Strike. Krueger will discuss his newest book in the Cork O’Connor series Fox Creek.
  • Britt Hawthorne: May 3 from 1-2 p.m. Register for the talk here.
    Hawthorne is a Now York Times bestselling author and nationally recognized teacher will discuss her book Raising Antiracist Children.
  • Jena Friedman: May 10th from 8-9 p.m. Register for the talk here.
    Fridman is a comedian, filmmaker, and creator of AMC’s Indefensible and Soft Focus with Jena Friedman on Adult Swim.

Kate Beaton spoke April 4 about her newest books Hark! A Vagrant and Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands.

New York Times bestselling historical fiction author Pam Jenoff spoke March 28 about her newest book Code Name Sapphire.

Jernard A. Wells spoke March 21 about his newest cookbook Southern Inspired: More Than 100 Delicious Dishes from My American Table to Yours.
