Local Authors Dive into Suburban Drama

Authors Aggie Blum Thompson and Christine Gunderson joined moderator Liza Achilles for a conversation at the Gaithersburg Book Festival on Saturday, May 17. Both writers live in the D.C. suburbs and explore suburban life in their fiction.

Thompson, a former crime reporter for The Boston Globe and The Washington Post, is known for suspense novels that reveal dark secrets behind suburban facades. Her latest book, You Deserve to Know, has been called a gripping read from “the master of the suburban scandal.”

Gunderson’s debut novel, Friends with Secrets, is an Amazon Best Seller and a July 2024 Amazon First Reads Pick. A former TV anchor and Capitol Hill aide, she now writes stories that celebrate the humor and heart of motherhood.

Watch their full discussion on storytelling, suburban life, and what inspires their work.
