Man Caught on Camera Ransacking Silver Spring Home

A man was caught on camera ransacking a Silver Spring home, and police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

Around 1 p.m. on May 11 in the 3000 block of Calverton Boulevard, the burglar kicked in the front door, put on a mask and sunglasses, then went from room to room stealing things before walking out according to police.

The surveillance video shows the man looking directly into the camera in the living room. Police hope someone recognizes him and can help track him down.

The person police are looking for is described as a Black male with short black hair, wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt with a red circular graphic on the chest, blue jeans, black backpack and white sneakers.

Detectives are asking for anyone with information regarding this crime or the suspect involved to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Callers may remain anonymous.
