Mayor Jud Ashman Wins a Fourth Term in Gaithersburg

Gaithersburg Mayor Jud Ashman, who is also a member of the Board of Directors at Montgomery Community Media, brought home his fourth consecutive win in the City of Gaithersburg‘s 2025 mayoral race Tuesday, Nov. 4.  The unofficial Election Day results posted Tuesday evening on the city’s website. Voters also reelected Councilmembers Jim McNulty and Lisa Henderson.

In the mayoral race, Ashman received 73% of the votes. His opponent, Tiffany Kelly, received a little over 23% of the ballots.

Among the council candidates, Henderson captured 42% of the vote, while McNulty received more than 3,500 votes, or nearly 31% of ballots cast.

As of Tuesday, 5,949 votes were counted, with 3,131 by mail and 2,818 in person at the polls.

The City of Gaithersburg has 42,311 registered voters. The preliminary vote turnout comes in at 14.06% of the electorate—that represents a nearly 2% increase in voter engagement.
