
Several events across Montgomery County will honor those who died while serving in the U.S. military this Memorial Day weekend.
Flags for Our Heroes – Gaithersburg
When: Opening Ceremony – Saturday, May 24, at 11 a.m.
Where: Bohrer Park, 512 S. Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg
Bohrer Park will display more than 750 American flags from May 23 to May 26. The exhibit honors heroes past and present. The public can visit the illuminated flag field anytime. The Rotary Clubs of Gaithersburg and Historic Emory Grove organize the tribute.

Jewish War Veterans Memorial Service – Rockville
When: Sunday, May 25, at 2:30 p.m.
Where: American Jewish Veterans Memorial, Bender Jewish Community Center, 6125 Montrose Road, Rockville
This tribute includes a keynote speech by Amy Grant Wolfe and readings honoring Jewish service members. The event features music from Voices of Vets and a wreath-laying ceremony.

Rockville Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade
When: Monday, May 26, at 9 a.m.
Where: Maryland Avenue, Rockville Town Center
Rockville will host a morning ceremony followed by a parade with over 50 groups. Local veterans and active service members will participate. Free parking is available at Metro and city lots.

Wheaton Veterans Memorial Ceremony
When: Monday, May 26, at 11 a.m.
Where: Wheaton Veterans Urban Park, 11200 Amherst Ave., Wheaton
Stan Seidel, Maryland’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Director, will speak. A light lunch follows at American Legion Post 268. The JFK High School NJROTC will present the colors.
Gaithersburg Memorial Day Observance
When: Friday, May 30, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Where: Christman Park, 304 W. Deer Park Road, Gaithersburg
City leaders and guests will pay tribute to fallen service members in a solemn ceremony. The public is encouraged to attend.
