Montgomery County becomes a ‘Winter Wonderland’ amid January snow

It’s the first major snow of 2026, and while the wintry mix is shutting down the streets, MCM’s news and production teams are hard at work reporting on the storm and making the best of the extreme weather conditions.

MCM’s production editor Bob Kanner was out and about in Brookville, Maryland making it a snow day of play with his family.

Meanwhile in Kensington, MCM producer Fran Murphy get’s a snow man’s take snowfall measurements, as MCM’s sports reporter Frank Hanrahan goes sledding in Takoma Park.
