Weekends draw the fewest voters during County early voting

If you want a quieter early voting center, skip the final day.

Data from three recent elections show Montgomery County voters crowd centers on the last day while weekend turnout stays low.

The final day was the busiest in all three elections, and weekends were the slowest.

About 23% of eligible county voters cast a ballot in the June primary, according to state results. The early voting figures are unofficial and exclude provisional and absentee ballots.

When to go

Early voting for the general election runs Oct. 22 through Oct. 29. Centers open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters in line by 8 p.m. can still cast a ballot. See the full list of Montgomery County election deadlines.

Dr. Gilberto Zelaya, public information officer for the Montgomery County Board of Elections, said centers will be staffed for the busiest days.

Voters can check current wait times at each early voting center on the county Board of Elections website.

Other ways to vote

Voters who prefer to skip the centers can return mail-in ballots. County teams have started checking them ahead of Election Day.
