Montgomery County Man Claims $4 Million Mega Millions Prize

A Montgomery County resident is the first Marylander this year to win a $4 million second-tier jackpot playing Mega Millions.

The man visited Maryland lottery headquarters in Baltimore on Aug. 11 to collect his winnings. He described himself to lottery officials “as a ‘Proud Marylander,’ who is on the verge of retirement thanks to the big win.” Maryland allows lottery winners to remain anonymous.

He won with a ticket purchased for the Tuesday, July 18 Mega Millions drawing. The winning numbers drawn were 19,22,31,37,54, and 18.

The Lobby Shop at 1 North Charles Street in Baltimore receives a $5,000 bonus from the lottery for selling the winning ticket.

As of Aug 11, a $10,000 ticket sold April 21 at 7-Eleven at 5402 Randolph Road in Rockville remains unclaimed from the recent Mega Millions run.
