Wednesday morning at 4:15 a.m., Montgomery County Police officers responded to a call for a shooting at the 900 block of Bonifant Street in Silver Spring.
Upon arrival, they found an adult male who had a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital.
Police then started a lookout for the suspect vehicle, which was located by the intersection of Wayne Avenue and Dartmouth Avenues. When police conducted a traffic stop, the occupant fired at the officers, according to police.
The officers fired back, striking the individual, who died on the scene.
