Montgomery Parks wants feedback on a proposed policy to allow individuals and groups to donate money to improve athletic fields across Montgomery County.
The public can share their opinions through a short survey from now until Oct. 9. The feedback will be reviewed and considered before the policy is updated and presented to the Montgomery County Planning Board for approval.
The proposed policy would create a process for private donations to help fund athletic field improvements. Donations could support projects such as field lighting, batting cages, dugouts and turf fields.
Montgomery Parks hopes the policy will help increase the number of fields available to the community without public funding. Under the proposal, donors could contribute funding or provide land for new park facilities.
