New Apartment Near Purple Line Opens in Chevy Chase

A purple ribbon was cut marking the opening of a 111-unit housing complex that is located near the proposed Purple Line.

Landmark Realty held a grand opening for the Crescent at Chevy Chase, Landmark Court in Chevy Chase on April 20. That site was purchased 50 years ago by the Bindeman family.

“I strive every day to honor the vision and hard work of past generations, and I am grateful for the opportunity to make them proud,” said Rob Bindeman, President of Landmark Realty. “Buildings are brick and mortar, but what we built here is a real sense of community.”

“Crescent is a major project in housing for Montgomery County, which is in scarce supply here,” said U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-8) at the groundbreaking.

“So many people love our beautiful county with its emphasis on education, diversity, community, and family that we don’t have enough housing for people to live. It’s a project like this that we’re going to need to continue to keep building for the future,” he said.

Added Council President Andrew Friedson, “Today, we are standing in what is one of the most vibrant parts of Montgomery County that is decades in the making.”

On its website, Crescent defines itself “where leisure and luxury coalesce.” It features a rooftop lounge, indoor and outdoor fitness center, community garden and electric vehicle charging stations.

Former NFL quarterback Gus Frerotte also attended the opening ceremony.
