NWS Issues Flash Flood Warning Monday for Southeast Montgomery County

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a flash flood warning for parts of southeast Montgomery County from 4:40 until 8 p.m. Monday.

Thunderstorms producing heavy rain were observed on radar in northern D.C., southeastern Montgomery and Prince Georges Counties. Rainfall up to 2 inches is possible which may result in flash flooding.

It is likely Beach Drive from Broad Road to Piney Branch Parkway will flood.

Officials urge residents to turn around and not drive through flooded roads. They say most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
