Officers Immediately Recognize Burglary Suspect, Arrest Two Men Nearby

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, two men stole from a Silver Spring barber shop. After watching the surveillance footage, officers immediately recognized one of the suspects.

At approximately 2:04 a.m., Oscar Hernandez-Bonilla, 39, of Rockville and Osmin Ernesto Martinez Diaz, 44, of Silver Spring entered the Elite Studio and Barber in the 11200 block of Triangle Lane, stole property and left.

Officers learned of the burglary at approximately 10:46, when they were flagged down nearby on the 11200 block of Georgia Avenue. According to a press release from the Montgomery County Department of Police, officers “immediately recognized Hernandez-Bonilla from surveillance video, and located him nearby, in possession of stolen items.”

Shortly thereafter, they found Martinez Diaz in the 11200 block of Georgia Avenue. They first transported him to the hospital for “injuries sustained prior to the arrest.”

Both men were sent to the Montgomery County – Central Processing Unit, where they were both charged with second-degree burglary and theft related charges. Martinez Diaz has since been released on bond, while Hernandez-Bonilla remains held on bond.
