
A 52-year-old woman was struck and killed in a hit-and-run collision while walking in Wheaton Tuesday. The crash happened at 7:27 p.m.
The driver fled the scene before police arrived. It occurred by Veirs Mill Road at Ennalls Avenue.
Montgomery County police officers and Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and found the woman in the road with critical injuries. She was transported to the hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries. Her name has not yet been released.
According to police, the driver was in a silver 2009 to 2012 Audi A4 or S4 and headed east. The car is reported to have damage to its windshield and right front fog light assembly. Police also believe the car’s headlight assembly and passenger-side fog light were damaged and may be hanging or missing.
