Following six hours of negotiations involving a domestic dispute, Montgomery County Police officers entered a home in 14100 block of Punch Street in Layhill and arrested a 29-year-old male.
Daniel Abraha had barricade himself inside the residence at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday and was alone. He refused to comply with officers’ requests to speak with them or leave the house.
While police tried to talk to Abraha, they asked area residents and pedestrians to stay at home and not walk or drive nearby.
At 9:30 p.m., a Montgomery County SWAT team entered the residence and arrested Abraha. He is charged with first-degree assault and malicious destruction of property. He was ordered held without bond.
A preliminary hearing is set for April 10.
UPDATE: The ERT in the 14100 block of Punch Street has ended and the man who barricaded hinself inside of his home is in police custody.
