A high school student was arrested and charged for a gas station armed robbery, according to police.

Jeffrey Gabriel Johnson, 18, was arrested by Rockville City Police at Richard Montgomery High School on Monday, the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) said in a release.

He was taken into custody without incident. Police said that on Feb. 20, MCPD and Gaithersburg police responded to the Summit Shell Station at 15 South Summit Ave.

Police said two suspects went into the store and one pulled out a knife. The suspect went behind the counter and held the knife to the clerk, demanding they open the register. The clerk did so and the suspect took an undisclosed amount of money, police said, and both suspects ran after the crime.

MCPD said detectives identified Johnson as the suspect with the knife. An arrest warrant was obtained for armed robbery, first-degree assault, and second-degree assault, according to police, and Johnson is being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.

Police said the second suspect remains outstanding.
