Police Identify 87-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck, Killed Friday 

Police identified a man who was killed after he was struck Friday in Aspen Hill. 

87-year-old Randall Dwight Gibson of Rockville was pronounced dead at the scene, per a release from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) on Saturday.

Police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) responded to the Georgia Avenue and Rossmoor Boulevard area at about 4:36 a.m. for a reported pedestrian struck. According to police, Gibson was in the roadway and not in a crosswalk when a driver in a 2016 Kia Optima struck him going southbound on Georgia Avenue.

The police department asks anyone with information to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) at 240-773-6620.
