Evan Heath Hesekiel, 31, of Silver Spring died Wednesday after being fatally struck by a vehicle on New Hampshire Avenue.
At about 4 a.m., police and fire rescue personnel responded to New Hampshire Avenue near Chalmers Road.
According to a police investigation, the driver of a white 2020 Ford Transit van that was heading south on New Hampshire Avenue and struck Hesekiel, who was crossing southbound on New Hampshire Avenue, north of Chalmers Road.
The driver remained on the scene.
