Montgomery County Police updated information about a stabbing near University Boulevard West and Amherst Avenue in Wheaton around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.
According to newly released information by the MCPD, the events leading to the stabbing began on Metro bus. Two adult males argued then got off the bus at the University West and Amherst.
The male suspect, who is still at large, stabbed the victim and fled the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
Police have secured the area and are in search of the suspect. During the investigation, Amherst Avenue will remain shut down from University Boulevard West to Reedie Drive.
Pending notification of next of kin, more information, including the name of the deceased will be made available.
