Police: Man Killed in Shooting at White Oak Shopping Center

Police said a man was killed and another was injured Saturday in a shooting at the White Oak Shopping Center.

34-year-old Marvin Jefferson, of Silver Spring, was pronounced dead at a hospital, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).

Officers and fire rescue personnel responded to America’s Best Wings in the 11200 block of New Hampshire Ave. for a reported shooting at about 5:51 p.m. Saturday, according to police.

Officers found two men with apparent gunshot wounds. Jefferson was found outside the restaurant and the second man was found nearby.

According to police, an altercation between the victims and suspect inside the restaurant led to the shooting.

Both victims were taken to a hospital, and Jefferson was later pronounced dead.

The second victim, who had serious but non-life-threatening injuries, was released from the hospital.

The suspect left after the shooting, police stated. No suspect is currently in custody.
