This story was updated at 4:15 p.m. to include comments by Executive Marc Elrich.

Several suspects forced their way into the Scotland AME Zion Church in Potomac and vandalized property, according to Montgomery County Police.

Police released video of the burglary that occurred on Nov. 25 at the church in the 10900 block of Seven Locks Road at about 11 p.m.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the burglary is asked to call police at 240-773-6710 or 240-773-TIPS.

“It saddens me greatly that we continue to witness more racist and hate-filled vandalism in our County,” County Executive Marc Elrich wrote in a news release. “My thoughts are with Pastor. Dr. Evalina Huggins and the congregation of Scotland AME Church and the entire Scotland community during this difficult time of fear and uncertainty. We want them to know that this entire County stands with this church and condemns these actions in the strongest terms.”

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to arrests, according to Elrich.
